Bands on the Beach
Turn your summer nights into a beachside dance party at Bands on the Beach. Each year, from April through October, you can enjoy free outdoor concerts on Pensacola Beach on Tuesday nights from 7 to 9 pm. Set against the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico at the Gulfside Pavilion, it’s the perfect spot to hang out with friends, feel the ocean breeze and maybe even show off your dance moves. Hosted by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, Bands on the Beach showcases talented regional artists who’ll have you dancing all summer long. Cat Country 98.7-FM gets the party started each week and keeps things lively throughout the night. All you need to do is grab your crew, bring some lawn chairs and snacks and get ready for a fun, free night by the water. (Just leave pets and glass at home.) Bands on the Bayou
Set along the Bayou in East Hill, Bands on the Bayou has returned for another summer of live music, great food and community vibes. Hosted by the East Hill Neighborhood Association, this lively concert series features a diverse lineup of talented local and regional artists performing everything from laid-back tunes to crowd-favorite hits.
Concerts are held along the banks of Bayou Texar at Bayview Park & Community Center located at 2001 E. Lloyd St. in East Hill, giving you a perfect waterfront view while you soak up the tunes. Come hungry because local food trucks and pop-up vendors will be serving up tasty bites and drinks at 4:30 pm, so you can snack while you hang out before the music kicks off at 6:30 pm.
Now in its fifth year, this three-part concert series not only highlights amazing local talent, but also supports selected local non-profit organizations through community fundraising. Bring a chair or blanket and snag your spot on the lawn outside the community center for a relaxed, family-friendly evening. Bands on the Blackwater
If you love live music with a waterfront view, Bands on the Blackwater is the perfect way to spend a summer night. Held along the west bank of the Blackwater River in historic downtown Milton, this annual concert series brings together an exciting mix of performers, ranging from local favorites to national touring bands. Concerts are held on select Friday nights from 7 to 9 pm. Whether you’re into folk, bluegrass or Americana, you’ll find something to love as you tap your feet to the rhythm of the river. Guests are also invited to anchor their watercraft along the river and enjoy the tunes from the water. Bring your blankets, chairs and coolers, and settle in for a fun, laid-back evening (just remember, no glass containers are allowed). Sponsored by the City of Milton, the series runs from early April through the end of June, then returns in the fall from early September through the end of October. Cinemas in the Sand
Grab a blanket, dig your toes into the sand and settle in for a movie night like no other at Cinemas in the Sand on Pensacola Beach. Presented by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, this free family-friendly event series transforms the shoreline into an open-air theatre. Held on select Friday nights from March through October at the Gulfside Pavillion stage (41 Fort Pickens Road) on Pensacola Beach, Cinemas in the Sand invites everyone to come out and enjoy popular films on the big screen under the stars. As the sun sets over the Gulf of Mexico, the big screen comes to life with a lineup of crowd-pleasing movies perfect for all ages. From animated favorites to feel-good classics, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Cinemas in the Sand is free and open to the public, making it perfect for a budget-friendly way to enjoy summer nights outdoors. Summer Stargazing
With so much of our time spent scrolling on our phones or staring at a screen, it’s nice to just take a pause and look up at the sky every once in a while. The Escambia Amateur Astronomers Association holds a series of deep-sky stargazing events each summer from April through October for anyone interested in the science of astronomy. Monthly gazes are held at the Gulfside Pavilion on Casino Beach and the Fort Pickens Battery Worth parking lot on select Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at sunset (clear skies permitting). The EAAA also hosts monthly deepsky stargazing sessions on select summer weekends at Big Lagoon State Park in Pensacola. At these free events, you can use their telescope and they assist you so that you can get the best view of the stars. The club distributes free sky maps and calendars, gives constellation tours and provides solar eclipse filters when needed. Club members will also provide photography tips for capturing the night sky in the best quality. Hancock Whitney Movies in the Park
The popular Movies in the Park event series has returned for 2026, offering a relaxed, familyfriendly way to enjoy summer evenings without spending a dime. Lighting up the night sky at Community Maritime Park’s Hunter Amphitheater behind the Blue Wahoos Stadium, families are invited to gather under the stars for an outdoor movie experience. Presented by the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with 2026 title sponsor Hancock Whitney Bank, this free event series features a mix of recent blockbusters and beloved animated classics projected on large outdoor screens. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks, and to arrive early for lots of pre-show fun, including live music, face painting, lawn games, bounce houses and interactive activities that give kids plenty of room to play before showtime. Local food trucks and vendors will also be on site offering everything from popcorn and snow cones to burgers, tacos and more. Movies in the Park is held monthly on select Saturday nights from 6 to 9:30 pm from May through August. There is no cost to attend or enjoy pre-show activities. All ages are welcome.

Sunday Market on Palafox
Established by local vendors Michael Sweeney and Jennifer Savage Thomas to support downtown businesses impacted by ongoing construction, the new Sunday Market on Palafox brings fresh energy to downtown Pensacola, offering a fun and lively way to spend summer mornings. Held every Sunday from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm at MLK Plaza at 50 S. Palafox St., the market features more than 100 local farmers, creative vendors and small businesses offering everything from seasonal produce to unique, handmade finds. Grab an iced coffee, catch live music and wander with friends — you won’t spend a dime unless you find something you love. Whether browsing, people-watching or simply soaking in the atmosphere, the Sunday Market on Palafox is the perfect way to experience the heart of our local maker community.
